Long Time, No Blog :P April 18, 2011

Hey girlies šŸ™‚

Sorry that I haven’t blogged lately! I have been kinda busy…. And for the record, my arm is NOT healing very quickly at all! But I have tons and tons of signatures on it. And guess who has a boyfriend?? Merrrr šŸ™‚ He’s a grade ahead of me. And he has blonde hair and blue eyes and he’s adorable!! But I’m taller than him! But who cares about height right? But anyways! So for this entry I wanna talk about being self-concious in the swimming suit season.

Some of us have been “packing on the pounds”, so to say, during the winter. But, now it’s spring. Which means, it’s swimming suit season. And with our “belly chub”, we might not be in the best form, or have the most confidence, Ā to see our crushes/boyfriends/etc. So here’s a couple ways to cover it up, and a few hints on how to at least try to get rid of it.

  • Wear your towel around you at any possible time. (Before you get in, right when you get out, and when you’re walking around.)
  • Try getting water friendly short to wear instead of an…uhhh underwear style (Idt that’s what it’s called) swimming bottom.
  • Try wearing a one-piece. Believe it or not they make some REALLY cute one pieces these days. But it’s a matter of getting the right one for you. I’ll put a couple of examples at the end of the post.

Here’s some tips for attempting to drop a few pounds.

  • Go toĀĀ and you can order something called Shakeology. Use that as a breakfast replacement every morning. It’s easy to make. You can add some peanut butter or bananas to spice it up (I get chocolate and it’s rich.)
  • You should keep track of the calories that you consume. There’s an I-Phone or I-Pod touch app that’s called something like MyNetLossDiary or something like that I think. It’s productive, to me at least.
  • Go on daily walks. The best time would be at like 7. It’s not too hot, but not too cold. Perfect walking weather, I think. You could even get a group of your friends together to walk everyday. It’s fun walking in big groups. Example: Everyone meet in front of the grocery store at 7pm.
  • That’s all that I can think of now, girls.

Life Goes On March 30, 2011

Hey guys. Well it’s been five days since I broke my arm. And for this post, the title says it all! At first I was really dreading having a broken arm. Ugh, it’s gonna be hard to do stuff. Oh, my arm really hurts. Just stupid stuff. But even though it’s only been five days, things are starting to become easier. And dah, dah, dah, dah, dah. You get the point.

Well here are some outfits that I’ve recently worn, with, of course, my broken arm. (I hate how that sounds!) But here you go:

  • Bootcut jeans with a black Knights (that’s our mascot) shirt.
  • Windpants with a grey Adidas sweatshirt.
  • Black track shorts with a pink breast cancer shirt once, and a grey knights shirt the other.
  • Skinny jeans with a blue sequin top.

But enough about my outfits. I have to tell you guys that this is really hard. My family is really broke right now. I just broke my arm, both of my grandparents just died (both of my mom’s parents), my mom just had a kidney infarction. And yes I know it sounds weird, but true story. It’s really rare and weird and stuff and she has 3 1/2 kidneys. I don’t know. But anyways. This is going to sound sooo weird but today my crush broke his ankle. But anyways, guys I have to help my parents raise money. And ideas? And by the way, if it isn’t obvious, it has to be something I can do with a broken arm. So I’m just gonna say right now, no babysitting, mowing, gardening, or anything like that. Okay please comment if you have any suggestions. And commenting with suggestions will also get you a whole post just about you! See a different post for details, though. Okay well that’s all that my arm/fingers can take tonight so ta-ta!

How To Dress With A Broken Arm March 26, 2011

Hey guys. Well this post is going to take forever because I broke my arm. Ugh. It’s horrible. But I also got a new post topic! How to dress when you have a cast. Here’s the basics:

  • Plenty of shirts that are easy to get over your cast.
  • Plenty of sweatshirts.
  • Articles of clothing that coordinate with the color of your cast.

That’s all I can think of now. But make sure you have plenty of jeans. And shorts. Right now I’m. like, obsessed with those Nike track shorts. I love them! They’re comfortable and not tight, so that means they don’t make your thighs look huge. Sorry guys, but this is gonna be a short post. Here’s a few tips for you though if you have a broken arm:

  • Only let people sign it in black. Any other colors could make it horribly hard to dress or color coordinate.
  • Try not going with a cast color that’s too out there. Try just like a green or pink or blue or something like that. Probably not a yellow.
  • I wouldn’t go with white, because it will easily show dirt!

Well that’s all guys.

Current Love = Fur Vests March 21, 2011

Vests are not the first thing most people think of as a fashion accessory, but we feel this delicious item is the perfect choice for this Spring. Never out of style, this little number adds a touch of glamour and a hint of drama into your own personal style. Pictured by Mary Kate Olsen below for Marie Claire’s Autumn Issue, we feel that red is the perfect option for a dramatic evening out. Opt for neutral tones on a day out shopping for a more casual feel. Our tip for fur vests:Ā You can buy them in almost any size. For a more laid back look, get the vest in one or two sizes larger than usual whereas for a more fitted look choose a slightly smaller sized vest for the perfect fit.

Okay guys. That’s it for this post. But I still wanna remind you about the post thing that I’m doing. If you want a whole post about you, then e-mail me a couple pics of yourself in your CUTEST outfits, then I’ll have a whole blog about you. But by e-mail, then that means that you give me permission to put at least ONE of your pics on the blog.

Too Naked To Be Fashion! March 18, 2011

WoW! Am I the only one who saw Lady GaGa (LG) walk the catwalk?! You can look it up on YouTube, then comment! Okay, to start out, half of the girls had their boobs hanging out. That’s not fashion, that’s just being kinky. Get a life! Is that what they’re calling high fashion these days. OMG! That shouldn’t even be under any type of fashion categories at all. Wtf? Second, I would like someone to try to find shoes taller than 24″. If you do, comment the link and I’ll do a whole post just on you. But I’m gonna tell you now that if you do, I will ask you to e-mail me some pics of yourself in your cutest outfits.

In fact, anyone who wants me to blog about them, just e-mail me a couple pics and I’ll do a whole post just on you. If you want my e-mail address, then just comment or something. I’ll put it on the about page. Then you can e-mail me, and then I’ll blog about you. Easy as 1, 2, 3. But I have to have your permission to use at least ONE of the pics on the post. So if you e-mail me, then to me that means I have your permission. And just so you know, this is proof that I warned you so you can’t sue me or anything!!

Well, I don’t want to bore you with a super long post like I did last time, so that’s all I’m gonna write for now. šŸ˜›

Spring 2011 March 8, 2011

All of us, well me at least, are getting excited, and even anxious, for spring 2011! Spring break, easter-whatever the reason-the urge for winter to be done. But the beginning of spring also means that it’s the beginning of a new fashion season. You can take the however you would like-as a good thing or bad thing-but it’s coming. So if you want a sneak peaks, well then here you go:

Fashion Trends: Key Looks

70’s Glamour

Just as the ’50s and ’60s are back, so are particular elements of the ’70s. There are two main aesthetics: ’70s bohemian, and ’70s sophisticated glamour. When it comes to the latter, think dresses that fall like shimmering water in the evening and high-waist pants with elegant blouses by day.

Biker Clothing

As of spring 2011 the military fashion trend will have been with us for over a decade. And for that decade it’s been great, we’ve loved it, but 10 years later we have to admit: spring 2011 is the time to move on. The question is: what do we move on to? The answer: the trend that’s been living in its shadow, waiting for its moment of glory. And for spring / summer 2011 it’s going to get just that because here comes the biker trend.

Punk Fashion

Another of the thematic trends for spring / summer 2011, punk carries on from last year to become less of a full blown trend and more one of influence – you’ll see its elements impact upon a number of other spring 2011 trends. Which can be a danger: punk fashion is one trend you can’t afford to get wrong.

60’s Ladylike

The silhouettes of the 1950s and 1960s make a strong return, with shapes that accentuate curves and foster femininity. A hip-hugging sheath dress with a below-the-knee hem is the ultimate in hourglass dressing, while the full circle skirt and dress remain at the core of the trend. For Spring 2011 introduce fresh colours, prints and light summery fabrics.

Clothing Trends

Sheer Maxi Dress
Every season trends evolve, and every season two trends merge. In that regards, spring 2011 will be no different from what has come before it. What will be different, however, is the season’s take on a staple for many women’s summer wardrobe: the maxi dress. In spring 2011 it’ll merge with another trend favourite to give us the sheer maxi dressĀ trend.
Lace Dress No, it’s not new. But, like all trends that span multiple seasons, it has evolved. Lace influences for Spring 2011 are more to the classic side with quality antique-style fabrics the key to the trend. Less of the allover, stretch lace and more of the unique takes.

Crochet & Macrame These are two fabric finishes that could had to return for 2011: the re-rise of 70s fashion, the popularity of nautical, and a love for lace guaranteed it.

Sometimes a little detail is all it takes to change the feel of a garment. In Spring 2011 one of the most popular trimmings is one that signifies luxury or, at times, the exotic. Adorning everything from handbags to shoes to dresses and hats.
Bell Bottoms/Flared Pants
With skinny pants and jeans now so common that they no longer make a statement it was inevitable that a different style would emerge as a trend. It didn’t necessarily have to be this one, but with the come back of all things 1970s it was inevitable that fashion forward people would turn to bell bottoms/flared pantsĀ as their style of choice.
Wide Leg Pants
By now the general experiment with cuts of pants and jeans that aren’t skinny should be evident: women’s pant trends in spring 2011 are defined by this experimentation with everyone keen to see options for women that simply aren’t skinny. Hence alongside the flares are wide leg pantsĀ and jeans. What is the difference between the two, and how should they be styled in 2011?
Capri Pants
For every trend exists its opposite. So as spring / summer 2011’s fashion trends allow us to welcome flares back into our wardrobes, so too does it allow for an opposite style, in the form of capri pants, to make a showing.
Tail Hems
They’ve been seen as an alternative to the summer mini skirt or maxi dress for sometime, and for spring / summer 2011 ‘tail hems’ continue their reign as the more interesting alternative to both.
Stripes are a dominant part of any spring / summer season, though usually, year on year, featuring a variation on the theme. Spring 2011 sees stripes with an unsurprising nautical dominance – but it’s a dominance inspired by other key Spring 2011 fashion trends.
Jumpsuits & Playsuits
They’re something of a yoyo trend: one season they’re in, the next season they’re out. For spring / summer 2011 they’re back again, reinterpreted to fuse in many of the season’s other fashion trends.
Accessory Trends

Crop Top
It was 2009 that we last focussed on this look as a trend, and back then it certainly wasn’t a trend for the whole year. This is very much a high-summer 2011 look, one great for the hottest of weather and party atmospheres, such as festivals.
ith the warmer weather comes the need to update your sunglasses collection with a new and on-trend style. For Spring 2011 the best accompaniment to a vintage-inspired look is a shape that screams ’50s/’60s glamour.
Belt Purses
There are the years when a particular style of clutch is on trend, and then there’s 2011. It’s out with the clutch and in with a belted alternative. One of the year’s casual fashion trends, the belt purseĀ is a statement piece of daytime wear that quickly went from the catwalks of Hermes and Pucci to the streets.
Shoe Trends
Clunky wooden shoes. It doesn’t sound like the most glamorous or practical of footwear trends, and yet the clog reached new heights in 2010 and will continue to have an impact on 2011’s footwear trends. Specifically the brass studding so prevalent will continue to be influential, while the clog’s overall popularity will wane.
Kitten Heels
Kitten heels are making a somewhat controversial return, spurred on by the trend of ’50s and ’60s dressing. More comfortable yet less appealing than their higher counterparts, kitten heels can work particularly well when dainty, pointed, and either retro-inspired or minimalist. When it comes to this style in 2011 it’s all about the theming. For Spring, kitten heeled sandals are also an option.
And there you have it! Those were the trends of spring 2011!
